The Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) – is programme of the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Union’s Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD), supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to promote strategies and processes aimed at increasing access to technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and skills development, as well as addressing the mismatch between supply and demand of skills, in order to improve youth skills, employability, and entrepreneurship – in so doing ensuring sustainable and inclusive development throughout the continent.

Position: Intern

Required qualifications, competencies, and experience

  • University degree in Development Studies, Sociology, Social work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Conflict Management, Business management, Marketing or similar.
  • Knowledge of the landscape of national and international actors working in the field of SGBV.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluency in writing, reading and speaking in English and Amharic, other languages are an asset.

Other knowledge, additional competencies

  • Sensitivity about the topic of SGBV and general knowledge about Income Generating Activities for women that may be tailored for survivors/high risk groups.
  • Fair working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
  • Ability to follow instructions 
Responsibilities:

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the RSSGBV team, the intern will support the team by undertaking the following tasks:

  • Provide support to monitoring of the project`s activities specifically in Component 3.
  • Support in the monitoring and evaluation of the progress of economic empowerment activities of survivors/high risk groups, in the project’s implementation areas.
  • Support in managing an information center establishment and service provision for survivors/high risk groups, in the project implementation areas.
  • Support in preparing the organo-grams of the major partners and stakeholders of the project.
  • Support in the development of Terms or References and concept notes for the remainder of the project’s implementation.
  • Participate in the different important meetings to be undertaken by the project and prepare minutes and reports when needed.
  • Compile and manage Project beneficiaries, workshop participants data ,
  • Work as a team member in a multi-cultural setting. 
  • Take charge of self-development and take initiative.
