Amhara Bank Job Vacancy Announcement 2023:

Position 1: Junior Learning and Development Officer

Education: BA in Management, Business management, Public administration and Development Management or any other related fields.

Experience: 1 year relevant Experience preferably in Banking Industry

Specific Functions:

  • Contribute in developing needs based learning and development programs (targeted at various employee categories and specific process areas) to support the bank’s corporate strategies;
  • Develop and update the yearly training calendar to support competency development initiatives across employee categories and Process areas.
  • Contribute in the identification of bank wide training objectives and the development of targeted strategies to achieve these objectives;
  • Assist in competency gap studies across employee categories and process areas;
  • Take attendance of training participants and maintain database
  • Analyze training delivery and effectiveness using specified metrics;
  • Evaluate and improve success of all training and development initiatives through needs-based feedback mechanisms to design enhancements or revisions by gathering data;
  • Handle other related generic activities as deemed necessary

Position 2: Senior IFB Officer

Education: BA in Business management, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Finance and Economics, Marketing Management or any other related fields.

Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in banking industry of which 2 years on officer position.

Specific Functions:

  • Support, follow–up and facilitate the IFB business activities at branches/regions to increase the resource mobilization efforts;
  • Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of IFB window operation across branches & take remedial action for any gaps observed;
  • Identify problems related to customer service delivery pattern of the overall IFB window operations across the Bank, and take remedial actions for improvement;
  • Monitor the cash balance of each Interest Free Wing at branches and follow up over all liquidity of the business line;
  •    Handle other related activities as deemed necessary

Place of Work: South East District (Addis Ababa), Adama District

Position 3: Human Resource Officer

Education: BA in HRM, Business Administration, Management, and any other related fields.

Experience: 3 years of relevant banking experience of which one/1 year officer position.

Specific Functions:

  • Sustain or/and improve key recruiting KPIs Plan and implement a Recruitment Marketing and Employer Branding strategy to attract high quality applicants ;
  • Source candidates through talent pools (internal/external) use the defined sourcing approach;
  • Screen candidates via resume review and phone interviews to verify appropriate hard and soft skills to fill specified roles and cultural fit with the organization;
  • Assures background checks and due diligence,
  • Prepare and give offer letter for new entrants,
  • Arrange new hire orientation and serve as a liaison between all new hires and their respective supervisors;
  • Integrated new entrants with the bank and its culture, as well as getting the tools and information needed to become a productive member of the team.
  • Maintain employee records are properly arranged, maintained and kept at the initial stage in the proper custody;
  • Handle additional related assignments as directed by immediate supervisor.

Position 4: Customer Service Executive – II

Education: BA in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, and any other related fields.

Experience: 1 year of experience in banking operation as CSO, CSR, CSE, or related position.

Specific Functions:

  • Engage and perform customer recruitment and account opening activities
  • Administer the Primary Vault dually with Branch Operation Manager/ Branch Manager;
  • Receive, verify, lodge and withdraw cash to/from Primary and Secondary Vault;
  • Receive or dispatch consignment of cash from/ to the Treasury;
  • Verify the daily cash receipts and cash bricks are in order, wrapped and initialed
  • Retrieve customer signatures, pictures and verify customers,
  • Perform other duties as required.

Place of Work: Batu, Bale Goba, Dilla

Position 5: Credit Administration Officer

Education: BA in Business management, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Finance and Economics, Marketing Management or any other related fields.

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in the Banking industry of which 1 year as Officer Position in credit area.

Specific Functions:

·          Control the movement of borrowers’ files in the process of file exchange so as to avoid missing files.

·           Maintain sequential filing of file contents, pruning the file for ease of usage and to avoid missing documents from the file.

·            Input the credit information in the Credit Reference Bureau data base;

·            Handle other duties as assigned by his or her supervisor

Position 6: Branch Operation Support Officer

Education: BA in Business management, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Finance and Economics, Marketing Management or any other related fields.

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in the Banking industry of which 1 year as Officer position.

Specific Functions:

  • Actively take part in developing and implementing strategy to provide the necessary assistance, facilitation to branches/regions in their effort of maximizing revenue;
  • Provide the necessary facilitation and supports to the smooth operation of regions /branches;
  • Develop/review, and monitor the proper implementation of branch operation procedure;
  • Compile regions’ enquiries for facilities and services from the Head Office and ensure they are all addressed as necessary;
  • Follow-up rectification of discrepancies and comments reported by internal Auditors/Branch Controller;
  • Design and implement effective branch performance measurement, and propose branch grading based on pre-established criteria ;
  • Collaborate and complement other organs, regions/ branches on resource mobilization, branch expansion, cross selling and customer retention undertakings;

Position 7: Junior Attorney 

Education: LLB in Law

Experience: One/1 year of relevant experience preferably in banking industry

Specific Functions:

  • Assist in the foreclosure process;
  • Participate in reviewing and approving statements of claim, defense, other pleadings and memorandum of appeal;
  • Participate in reviewing court judgments and arbitrational tribunal orders;
  • Represent and/or ensure that the Bank is adequately represented at courts or tribunals in its defenses or in suits against third parties if necessary ;
  • Participate in facilitating trainings on legal subjects to other process performers of the Bank;
  • Prepares statement of claim, defense, pleadings, appeal, affidavit, memorandum, application, notices & legal instruments;
  • Under supervision, collect data for legal researches;
  • Perform other related duties given by the supervisor.

Position 8: Senior Customer Service Officer – Cash

Education: BA in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, and any other related fields.

Experience: 3 years of experience in banking operation as CSO, CSR, CSE or related position.

Specific Functions:

  • Engage and perform customer recruitment and account opening activities
  • Administer the Primary Vault dually with Branch Operation Manager/ Branch Manager;

Position 9: Branch Manager Grade – I

Education: BA in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, and any other related fields.

Experience: 7 years of relevant experience in the Banking Industry of which 1 year as Assistant Branch Manager/CSM or Relationship Manager or 7 years of relevant banking experience of which at least 2 years as Senior Officer in banking operation position.

Specific Functions:

  • Plan and lead the enhancement of the resource mobilization activity of the branch by organizing
  • and effectively coordinating the branch workforce;
  • Aggressively engage in marketing and promotional activities by communicating with customers about the products and services available in the bank;
  • summary accounts of the branch and apply strict follow-up on controllable expenses;
  • Ensure that transactions are authorized immediately and end-of-business cycle processes are done on a timely basis.

Education: BA/Diploma Administrative Office Management/ Secretarial Science and Office Management or any other related fields.

Experience: 1/One/|3/Three/years of relevant experience preferably in banking industry.

Essential Functions:

  • Receiving and distributing messages;
  • Creating and periodically updating records;
  • Periodic monitoring of office supplies and control of shortages;
  • Solve office-related problems (including those under the office) and respond to questions or issues;

Specific Functions:

· Participate in development and implementation of a risk-based internal audit work program to provide independent assurance that all the material areas are covered and audited in a timely manner;

·  Conduct special investigation for potential frauds as initiated from Board, CEO, or the Department and prepare a special investigation report;

·  Provide professional advice, opinion and witness on fraud occurrences as requested by court or police;

· Make regulatory audit activity when ordered by regulatory bodies (NBE, FI) on various issues such as due diligence reports, deposits, loans, etc.

·  Independently identify significant as well as risky areas and activities of head office functional units , and recommend respective control systems as appropriate

Position 12: Senior Strategy Officer

Qualification: BA in Business management, Economics, Business Administration, Finance and Economics, Marketing Management or any other related fields.

Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in banking industry of which 2 years on officer position.

Specific Functions:

  • Take part in the preparation of the bank’s strategic and annual plan and budget documents;
  • Contributes in the designing of various planning methodologies, guidelines and formats;
  • Prepare appropriate corporate key performance indicators (KPI) used to measure performance and progress;
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly corporate progress reports and draft recommendations to capitalize on strengths and opportunities, close up deviations and work on limitations;
  • Collect pertinent data and analyze the factors that critically influence the performance of the Bank,
  • Conduct periodic and/or up to date research on internal and external environment and business trends and keep up to date on new ways of doing strategic planning, and manage the database on internal and the external business environment

Position 13: Manager, Branch Operation Support Division

Qualification: MA/MBA/BA in Business Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance and Economics or any other related fields.

Experience: Seven/Nine 7/9 years of relevant experience in banking industry of which Two/2 years on senior officer position.

Specific Functions:

  • Develop and implement strategy to provide the necessary assistance, facilitation to branches/regions in their effort of maximizing revenue;
  • Monitor the provision of necessary facilitation and supports to the smooth operation of regions /branches;
  • Lead the development/review, and proper implementation of branch operation procedure;
  • Manage the regions’ enquiries for facilities and services from the Head Office and ensure they are all addressed as necessary;
  • Propose  additional formats/changes in the exiting formats that may be required
  • Monitor exchange of signatories among banks and branches/regions offices;

Required Qualification and Experience
Qualification: 8th Grade Complete

Age: Between 25-50

Specific Functions:

  • Avert inventory losses by reporting missing items, inconsistencies and damaged property;
  • Use radio or other communication devices in a clear and concise manner, if appropriate;
