Awash Bank, Ethiopia’s pioneering private bank, was established on November 10, 1994 after the downfall of the socialist regime. The Bank was established by 486 founding shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 24.2 million and started banking operations on Feb. 13, 1995.

Awash Bank Job Vacancy Announcement:

Position 1: Telephone Technician

Qualification & Experience: Diploma in Electronics Technician or related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in telephone technician preferably  in the banking sector.

The job holder is responsible to establish communications systems by installing, operating and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment. Prepare technical specification and evaluate bid documents for all telephone facilities & equipment’s.

Position 2: Principal – Digital Partners Relationship Management Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Management, Accounting and Finance, Marketing, MIS, E-Commerce, Economics or related field plus a minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in banking industry.

The jobholder is responsible for coordinating digital partners Relationship Management. She/ he handles relationship with corporate billers, online merchants, fintech, etc. She/ he is responsible for digital integration activities within the Bank. She/he is also responsible for sourcing and implementing digital/ecosystem partnership opportunities for the Bank.

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance and Economics plus minimum of eight 8() years of relevant banking experience of which 3 years in a supervisory position.

The job holder is responsible to plan, organize, lead, and control the banking activities of a branch office. S/he ensures that operating procedures, rules, regulations and code of practices of the bank are adhered to by subordinates. The jobholder leads the branch sales and customer service initiatives and guides branch operational excellence. S/he prepares and submits annual budget, operational plan and activity and progress reports.

Position 5: Senior Accountant – IFRS Project

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Accounting and Finance plus a minimum of Six (6) years work experience. Certification of ACCA/CPA & IFRS Diploma are an added advantage.

Position 6: Branch Manager – Class IV Branch

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance and Economics plus minimum of eight 8() years of relevant banking experience of which 3 years in a supervisory position.

Position 7: Branch Manager – Class II Branch

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Accounting, Economics, Management & Business Administration plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the banking sector of which three (3) years in a supervisory position.

The job holder is responsible to plan, organize, lead, and control the banking activities of a branch office. S/he ensures that operating procedures, rules, regulations and code of practices of the bank are adhered to by subordinates. The jobholder leads the branch sales and customer service initiatives and guides branch operational excellence. She/he prepares and submits annual budget, operational plan and activity and progress reports.
