Menschen für Menschen Switzerland was founded in 1989 by the Honorary President Rolf Knie together with Karlheinz Böhm. The foundation is headquartered in Zurich. The projects in Ethiopia are planned, implemented and controlled by the country representative and the programme coordinator in Ethiopia, in close collaboration with the head office in Zurich.
The Menschen für Menschen Switzerland Foundation has had the ZEWO seal of approval since 1999, which guarantees that donations are used responsibly. As a non-profit organisation, the Menschen für Menschen Switzerland Foundation is exempt from all taxes, including inheritance tax.
Position 1: PURCHASE OFFICER
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluating potential vendors, comparing their products, prices, and services
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
- Researching and identifying prospective suppliers
- Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and records products and services to be purchased.
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc
- Purchases materials, supplies, equipment’s and services as per MfM purchasing policies and procedures.
- Collects and maintains current information regarding sources, prices, and specifications of goods and services
- Maintains & keep records of all purchase transactions. Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases.
- Gathering, compiling and analyzing bid documents & Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
Qualifications: BA in Purchasing/Procurement & Supplies Management/ Management/Accounting or related field.
Work Experience: A Minimum of 6 years as a purchaser officer.
TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS:
- Responsible, trustworthy and reliable.
- Keen observation abilities and alertness.
- Good organizational communications skill and ability to work as part of a team
- Good computer Knowledge.
Language: A good command of spoken & written English
Salary: Negotiable
Terms of Employment: Yearly renewable contract

Position 2: AUTO-ELECTRICIAN
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Undertake electrical repairs on various vehicles, plant & Carry out regular maintenance and servicing of electrical systems
- Repair parts and equipment when needed order for parts and equipment as necessary
- Identify and diagnose issues with vehicle electrical systems Fix damaged electrical components and parts repair and maintain various kinds of electrical systems in motor vehicles
- Install and repair electrical wiring in cars
- Propose repairs based on vehicle electrical systems diagnosis
- Test, Service, install, repair and replace faulty wiring and electrical components and systems such as fuses, relays, electrical fixtures wiring and switches
Qualifications: College or TVET Diploma in Auto-Electric or related field.
Work Experience: Minimum of 6 years’ experience in auto electric maintenance work.
TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS:
- Responsible, trustworthy and reliable.
- Keen observation abilities and alertness.
- Organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team
Language: A good command of spoken & written English
Salary: Negotiable
