Advocacy Center for Democracy & Development (ACDD) is a non-profit civil society organization established in 2020 and officially registered under the FDRE Authority for Civil Society Organizations (Registration No. 4867). ACDD’s mission is to enhance civic participation, promote governance reforms, and foster democratic development in Ethiopia. ACDD is currently seeking a qualified Communication and Advocacy Intern to assist the digital communication at its head office in Addis Ababa.
Position 1: Communication and Advocacy Intern
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and schedule daily content across multiple social media platforms (e.g, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and LinkedIn).
- Managing, following and maintaining website and social media platforms
- Assist in creating visually appealing graphics, videos, and other media using basic design tools
- Write captions and posts aligned with the organization’s voice and objectives and in consultation with the immediate supervisor
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Prepare reports on social media analytics, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Stay updated on platform changes and emerging trends in social media.
- Collaboration with the program and other staffs, to align social media strategies with broader campaigns.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience
- Fresh graduate
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and basic graphic design tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Position 2: Finance & Admin Intern
Job Summary
Under the supervision of immediate supervisor assigned, the Finance and Admin Intern is expected to participate in the preparation of financial reports, analyze actual financial data, learn more about Peachtree software Training, and assist with other accounting activities. She/he will gain experience and learn essential basic skills by assisting our team with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and other projects for clients. She/he will help ensure our records are consistent with all submitted financial statements, and also perform administrative duties, such as data entry and filing and others.
The Finance & Admin Intern reports to the immediate supervisor and will work closely with program staff to ensure effective financial oversight of grants and project budgets.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- Fresh graduate
- Strong understanding of Ethiopian financial regulations and NGO financial policies
- Familiarity with Peachtree or other accounting software
Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong commitment to learn organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Ability to understand English (both written and spoken); fluency in English is highly desirable.

Position 3: Junior Social Worker
Job Summary
- Under the supervision of the Immediate Supervisor, the Junior Social Worker will provide support to individuals, families, and communities (As needed) by addressing their social, emotional, and economic challenges. This role involves implementing support programs, implementing program activities, engaging in assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and any other activities needed in the program department.
- The Junior Social Worker reports to the Immediate Supervisor assigned and will work closely with program staffs to ensure effective implementation of activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in assessing clients’ needs and creating individualized care plans.
- Provide guidance and referrals to appropriate community services and resources.
- Follow up on client progress and adjust support plans as needed
- Support senior staff in organizing and facilitating workshops, support groups, and community activities.
- Assist in executing interventions aimed at addressing specific social challenges and any assigned activities
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, political science or a related field.
Experience

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
