ICAP Ethiopia, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office (FHAPCO), Regional Health Bureau (RHB), local universities and colleges, and funded by PEPFAR through CDC, invites qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following vacant position:
Position: Training and Learning Officer
Location: Addis Ababa
Salary Range: 1000 – 2000 USD
Job Summary:
The Training and Learning Officer will coordinate and organize a series of trainings in collaboration with ICAP regional offices, Federal Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, regional health bureaus, and regional reference laboratories on various topics. The officer is responsible for arranging all logistics related to the training.
Major Accountabilities:
- Assist in organizing trainings by maintaining regular contact with technical staff, regional offices, and trainers.
- Handle dispatch and confirmation of training correspondences via email, fax, and hand delivery.
- Maintain communication with staff and implementing partners regarding training programs.
- Work with the SQMDT team to identify contacts for trainees and trainers.
- Collect, check, and record Training Information Management System (TIMS) forms in the ICAP database.
- Ensure proper filing of ICAP-sponsored training/workshops TIMS.
- Maintain and update the training database for all ICAP-sponsored trainings, workshops, and meetings.
- Archive all training-related information in both hard and soft copies.
- Regularly enter participant information into the train-soft database accurately and promptly.
- Communicate training data to ICAP regional offices for updates and decision-making support.
- Coordinate training logistics with the logistics unit of ICAP-Ethiopia.
- Prepare and communicate training invitation letters with ICAP regional offices, regional health bureaus, and universities.
- Develop and maintain training program files, keeping records of TIMS forms and related correspondence.
- Follow up on the preparation, signature, and distribution of certificates as per the training SOP.
- Assume other duties as needed and assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Skill and Educational Background:
- University Degree in Public Health or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in planning, organizing, and facilitating in-service training.
- Familiarity with training data entry.
- Willingness to travel outside Addis Ababa for more than 80% of the time.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners.
- Good computing skills (MS-Office, etc.).
- Proficient in writing and oral communication in English.
- Experience working with USG-partners is an advantage.
Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 80% travel to supported regions.
