Position: Cost Reimbursement Officer


About the opportunity

The Cost Reimbursement Officer is responsible for ensuring cost recovery from active grants on a monthly basis. The role includes establishing grants and cost centers in the financial system, implementing cost allocations and ensuring compliance with Plan International’s cost recovery guidelines. The officer coordinates with the finance team on cost classifications, maintains accurate employee salary funding matrices, and manages submissions to the finance department.


Main tasks

  • Make sure grants and cost centers are set up properly for cost distribution.
  • Execute cost recovery processes in accordance with company policies.
  • Support the development of cost classification in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely salary funding matrices.
  • Ensure compliance with Plan International’s safeguarding and equality policies.

Required qualifications and skills

Training

  • BA degree in accounting, finance or business administration.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, budgeting and financial management.
  • At least 2 years of experience working directly with donor budgets.

skills and knowledge

  • Basic understanding of roles in financial and grant management.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement processes and principles.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and budgeting functions.
  • Integrated understanding of grant accounting practices and procedures.

Responsibility for protection and inclusion

  • Follow Plan International Policy to protect children and young people.
  • Ensure team members are briefed on gender protection and equality policies.
  • Promote safeguarding practices and ensure relevant reporting and data transfer.
