The World Bank Ethiopia Country Office is hiring Ethiopia. The positions are based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and open to Ethiopian nationals.
The World Bank on-going energy portfolio and pipeline of projects in Ethiopia include support for power sector reforms; investment projects on power transmission, distribution, and grid electrification; solar mini grids & standalone solar systems for households and communities; clean cooking and improved cook stoves; and interconnection with neighboring countries as part of the efforts to bring Ethiopia connected to the regional electricity network.
Position 1: Team Assistant
Selection Criteria:
- Preferably a Diploma in Secretarial Studies, Office Management, or Business Administration. A University Degree will be an advantage.
- At least Three (3) years of relevant work experience in a similar position, preferably with a large International or Service or Private Sector Organization.
- Additional qualifications will be an advantage.
Required Competencies:
- In addition to the above selection criteria, the following competencies are expected of the successful candidate:
- Technology and systems knowledge – demonstrates advanced knowledge and experience working with office applications (MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Teams) and WebEx. Has ability and willingness to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills as technology.
- Project and task management – exhibits good organizational and problem-solving skills and ability to work competently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates attention to detail and quality. Has the ability to manage multiple tasks and complete tasks within the agreed schedule.
Position 2: Health Services Specialist, Field Health
Selection Criteria
- Master’s degree with 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Strong theoretical base in subject area, combining a broad grasp of relevant theory and principles and of involved practices and precedent.
- Ability to translate theory into practical applications in context of Bank work.
- Ability to participate in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Valid and current Registered Nurse licensure, certification, or other professional recognition per local public health authority requirements
- Able to take 24-hour nurse call duty assignment.
- Proficiency in written, spoken, and clinical English.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Experience:
- 5 or more years of experience working as in-house nurse for a large employer
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical judgement and decision-making
- Experience working with international organizations / multicultural populations
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team environment
- Proficiency in two or more languages
