The World Bank Ethiopia Country Office is hiring up to three (3) short-term consultants to support energy sector engagement in Ethiopia. These positions are based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and are open to Ethiopian nationals.
The ongoing energy portfolio and pipeline of projects in Ethiopia include support for power sector reforms, investment projects on power transmission, distribution, and grid electrification, solar mini-grids & standalone solar systems for households and communities, clean cooking and improved cook stoves, and interconnection with neighboring countries as part of efforts to connect Ethiopia to the regional electricity network.
1. Senior IT Assistant, Client Services
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with no experience required or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Skills:
- Good knowledge of IT technologies: Windows Platform, Microsoft Office, MFD, Servers, Smartphones, etc.
- Strong client service skills and the ability to work under pressure with accuracy and professionalism.
- Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS service, and other networking methods and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of IT Service Management and experience with ITIL best practices for Helpdesk Service.
- Proficiency in recent Microsoft Windows applications.
- In-depth knowledge of M365 applications.
- Knowledge of network communication technologies and other WAN/LAN products.
- Familiarity with IP telephony and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge and experience in setting up and supporting videoconference facilities.
- Comfortable using remote access technologies and remote troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills: the ability to listen and then clearly describe the problem and proposed solution.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
- General knowledge of the mission and business requirements of the World Bank Group.
- Proven ability to work alone and in a team environment.
2. IT Analyst, Client Services
Selection Criteria:
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills:
- Excellent skills in supporting Windows desktops, VPNs, and Apple mobile devices.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft suite products, e.g., Office365, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive on Mobile and PC, and browser-based applications.
- Advanced skills with virtual meeting tools, including Cisco products, such as WebEx and Jabber, and MS Teams and Zoom.
- ITIL4+ Certification and experience in performing incident management according to ITIL practices using the ServiceNow system and adhering to agreed SLAs and quality metrics.
- Experience in supporting VIP clients, with the temperament to handle urgent requests.
- Good communication skills to conduct training on IT products and engage with clients in a multi-cultural environment.
