Awash Bank, Ethiopia’s pioneering private bank, was established on November 10, 1994 after the downfall of the socialist regime. The Bank was established by 486 founding shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 24.2 million and started banking operations on Feb. 13, 1995.

Awash Bank Job Vacancy Announcement:

Position 1: Legal Aid

Qualification & Experience:

Diploma in Law plus a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Legal Aid.

Job Summary:

The Jobholder is responsible for representing the Bank before quasi-judicial tribunals and administrative bodies, assists attorneys in foreclosure process and conducts auction, follows up implementation of court decisions and orders, follows up criminal cases, searches for collateralized vehicles and searches for attachable.

Position 2: Cyber Security Analyst I

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field plus a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in Information Security areas.
Job Summary:

The job holder is responsible for detecting and responding to security events and incidents within the Bank. He/she will be systematic examination of an information system or product to determine the adequacy of security measures, identify security deficiencies, provide data from which to predict the effectiveness of proposed security measures, and confirm the adequacy of such measures after implementation.

Position 3: Branch Manager – Class IV Branch

Qualification & Experience:

BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance and Economics plus minimum of eight (8) years of relevant banking experience of which 3 years in a supervisory position.

Job Summary:

The job holder is responsible to plan, organize, lead, and control the banking activities of a branch office. S/he ensures that operating procedures, rules, regulations and code of practices of the bank are adhered to by subordinates. The jobholder leads the branch sales and customer service initiatives and guides branch operational excellence. S/he prepares and submits annual budget, operational plan and activity and progress reports.
