Kerchanshe Trading P.L.C is the largest producer and exporter of coffee in Ethiopia, It has a proud history of providing quality coffees to the local and international markets.  Currently our company needs a dedicated and motivated candidate.

Kerchanshe specializes in coffees sourced from Yirgacheffe, Lekempti, Gimbi, Djimma, and Sidamo, names that epitomise fine Arabica coffee. Since its inception 15 years ago, Kerchanshe has established a track record of fair trading and excellent customer service, and now employs over 1,250 permanent staff and 10,000 seasonal staff.

Position: Junior Agronomist

Qualification

  • BSc  in Agronomy , Horticulture , Plant science and Related fields of studies.
  • Zero ( 0 ) Experience

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Develops planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improving crop yield, and solving problems.

  • Develops planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines.
  • Researches and promotes agricultural strategies to counter the effects of changes in soil, climate, weather, and pest damage,
  • Assesses crop production of the farm,
  • Evaluates and improves seed quality,
  • Carries out laboratory tests of soil, seed, and crop samples,
  • Performs quality control for seed caliber and soil standards,
  • Visits fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples,
  • Tests samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes,
  • Conduct soil analyses and develop nutrient management plans,
  • Recommend and oversee the application of fertilizers, soil conditioners, and other amendments to improve soil health,
  • Assists with the plant sourcing, testing, and selection, 
  • Keeps detailed records regarding fields, customers, crops, and samples,
  • Generates reports and presenting findings to management, clients, or other interested parties, 
  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
