Position: Social Worker

Job Description:

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist the project officer in situational assessment, operational planning, implementation, and monitoring of the IDP activities.
  • Provide individual and group psychological first aid/psycho-social support to children and women affected by the conflict to enable them to restore their safety, dignity, and hope.
  • Facilitate consultation and discussions with beneficiary populations, making sure they are involved in needs assessment, delivery of protection/assistance, and development/implementation of durable solutions.
  • Closely work with local authorities and relevant government sector (women and children affairs, education, social affairs, schools, etc) to facilitate recovery and reiteration of the affected population.
  • Coordinate and manage the establishment of child-friendly spaces in collaboration with schools, local authorities, and faith leaders

Required Professional Experience

  • At least one year of relevant experience in child protection and related areas,
  • Knowledge and experience in Gender Based Violence programming an asset.
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement integrated CP responses, including Gender Based Violence.
  • Awareness of or interest in community-based protection mechanisms.
  • Direct case management and experience working with children and adolescents is an asset.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem-solving

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • First degree in Social work, Sociology, Psychology, Education, or other eleven fields.

Position: Child Protection & Gender Based Violence Prevention Officer

Job Description:

Major Responsibilities

  • Compiling and analyzing data, and related information on overall IDP, returnees, and humanitarian crisis in the target area, with a specific focus on child protection/GBV, and preparing written inputs accordingly to inform effective program planning, development, and management.
  • Undertakes regular protection service delivery for vulnerable women, girls, and children to recover from the traumatized experiences caused by conflict and forced displacement.
  • Collect information; identify problems and constraints to ensure effective project delivery. Participate in meetings with relevant coordination forums, local authorities, other actors, and donors to discuss and represent WVE’s work.
  • Facilitate training for various community groups on relevant topics of child protection and gender-based violence sector in partnership with civil society and government actors.
  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate project results to ensure achievement of objectives and take corrective action when necessary… Ensure application of standards, guidelines, and good practices for children and women protection in emergency-related activities

Required Professional Experience

  • A minimum of three years experience in child protection, Gender-based violence, and related areas, program/project development, and management in an emergency context are required.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing child protection and GBV training for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Direct case management and experience working with children, women, and adolescents is an asset. Knowledge and experience in Gender-Based Violence programming including prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) and assets.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • University degree in Social work, Sociology, Psychology, Public health, and relevant fields of social sciences.

3.Position: Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Coordinator

Job Description:

The GESI Coordinator will be accountable for the formulation, design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of WVE-supported emergency programming, with a focus on child protection, GBV prevention and response, and GESI interventions. This work will be undertaken within the context of the broader WVE response to the IDP and humanitarian crisis work. The GESI coordinator represents the CP and GBV roles that will support the coordination of other emergency programming (health and nutrition, education) as relevant within the

WVE response to emergency crisis work.

  • Leads the preparation of ongoing situation reports, periodic updates, and analyses, by compiling and analyzing data, and related information on overall IDP, returnees, and humanitarian crisis in the target area, with a specific focus on GESI, child protection/GBV, and preparing written inputs accordingly to inform effective program planning, development, and management.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for the implementation of project-specific GESI interventions and support.
  • Produce periodic reports on the situation of internal displacement and its effects on the lives of children and women.
  • Strong partnership established and communication maintained for valuable contribution to regional level GESI responsive project.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to intervention woredas to ensure the progress of project implementation on a good track develop mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the impact of the project implementation in different locations, and ensure learning is integrated into future program design.
  • Facilitate documentation of best practices and challenges to generate materials for the strategic direction of further implementations of GESI, CP & GBV projects.

  • Provide technical support including capacity-building training on GESI, GBV prevention and response, and MHPSS for CPGBV officers, social workers, MHPSS specialists, and key government stakeholders

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE Required Professional Experience
