Marie Stopes International Ethiopia (MSIE), a partner of MSI, is currently undertaking a dramatic scale-up of health service delivery for low income women and couples in Ethiopia. Position 1: Senior Clinical Training and Quality Assurance Officer

DUTIES/TASKS

Support to Clinical Services and Training

  • Develop training curriculum, materials and evaluation tools in accordance with the MOH and MSI requirements/standards;
  • Assess/Identify training needs of clinical staff in consultation with the concerned Departments;
  • Prepare training projects and propose the delivery of high quality health service trainings to MSIE health professionals and partners in accordance with MSI standards;
  • Develop annual training plan in consultation with the concerned Departments and the;
  • Provide theoretical and practical clinical trainings for MSIE and partners clinical staff;
  • Conduct studies to develop MSIE’s capacity to provide trainings in the areas of FP/RH, MEM and other cross-cutting trainings
  • Communicate with institutions or professionals who could provide quality trainings in the areas of FP/RH;
  • Conduct post training follow-up, coaching, mentorship, evaluations and impact assessment to establish effectiveness of the training programmes of MSIE;
  • Assist medical professionals in clinics, outreach, and franchisees in handling critical or complicated medical cases;

Health Services Quality Assurance 

  • Study quality assurance standards in line with the country and MSI standards;
  • Conduct regular quality control checks (Internal Clinical Audit, competency assessment, clinical record audit) for MSIE, franchisee/private network clinics, public facilities and the outreach services and propose to take appropriate corrective measures in line with the organization’s policy and procedure;
  • Assess quality services are provided through all clinics and outlets;

Research Sharing and Learning

  • Conducts studies or utilizes previously-conducted similar studies to identify acceptable approaches for the effective implementation of FP/RH training programmes;
  • Prepares budget for training and other activities in consultation with the relevant units and monitors its proper administration;
  • Formulates proposals to secure funding for training;

Educational :  MD/MPH/BSc in public Health, Nursing or Midwifery

Experience:  Four/Six year’s directly experience in:

·       Health services management experience gained within the reproductive healthcare sector

·       Experience in providing and / management of FP/RH services and training

·       Experience in health services quality control at national level

·       Proven clinical training, mentoring and coaching skills in Comprehensive Abortion care and Comprehensive family planning

Location: Addis Ababa

Position 2: Public Sector Strengthening Specialist

DUTIES/TASKS

  • Ensures that the public facilities strengthening programme is implemented according to the approved donor agreements and MSI programme standards.
  • Produces monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports and any other relevant information and submits to immediate supervisor and/or channel lead.
  • Performs periodic performance reviews of the public facilities strengthening activities.
  • Participates in the area office annual activity planning.
  • Conducts regular supportive supervision
  • Supports the health facility in clinical quality improvement activities including providers’ competency assessment, clinical quality internal audit, medical emergency management, etc.

Qualification Requirements

Education:  BSc/MSc/MPH in Nursing or Public Health.

Trainings:  Certificates in SRH/FP, CAC, nutrition

Experience:  Four years of related experience for MSc and Six years for BSc

Location: Ambo (required 2), Adama (req.3), Jimma (req.2), Bahirdar (req.2), Hawassa (req.2), Mekele (req.1)

Position 3: Outreach Team Leader

As outreach team leader will oversee the following:

  • Conduct and report all mobilization activities and share learning points to the line manager
  • Work with outreach team for the improvement of services uptake and quality assurance procedures
  • Supporting community-based partners to develop a clear plan for capacity development and provide relevant support towards realization of that plan.
  • Supporting the development of strong local networks of relevant stakeholders,
  • Documenting and sharing good practices and lessons learned with colleagues to support organizational learning.

Required Qualification and Experience: 

  • Degree in Nursing or in Public Health with a minimum of four to six years’
  • Direct relevant experience.
